Bladen Community College announces its first Welcome Week
The Bladen Community College Retention Task Force is pleased to announce its first annual Welcome Week!
This is a full week of events and activities to kick-start a new academic year. All students are invited and encouraged to participate.
Welcome Week events start Monday, August 19th and continue through Friday, August 23. Each day’s activities will be sponsored by different campus groups and promises to be filled with food, fun, fellowship. Most importantly, faculty and staff will be on hand ready to support students as they begin the new academic year.
Beginning Monday, August 19th, from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm in the student lounge, students can drop by to pick up a BCC T-shirt and sign a “Commit to Complete” pledge as well as enjoy a Chick-fil-A lunch sponsored by the BCC Student Government Association. On Tuesday, August 20th from 8:00 am until 9:30am, the Faculty Senate is providing “Back to School Bagels” in the Student Resource Center. Cool down with Sunset Slush on Wednesday, August 21st from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm sponsored by the BCC Alumni Association. Volunteers will be available to answer questions about students getting involved in campus clubs. The Learning Enhancement Center (LEC) and Campus Salon are sponsoring an ice cream social from 11:00am until 1:00pm in the LEC. Information will be available about the services provided by these two campus resources. Welcome Week will wrap up on Friday, August 23rd with snacks sponsored by the Student Resource Center (SRC). Drop by the SRC to grab a snack and enter into a drawing for a book bag of school supplies.
