Beginning

Make sure you go the Blackboard site for this course and navigate through the site learning where everything is. Be sure to check out the Syllabus, Assignment, and Discussion Board sections.

Complete the assignment for Week 1 including the Discussion Board. Do not wait until the last minute.

 Weekly Procedure

If you have any problems, please let the instructor know promptly. Work all exercises within each lesson. Do not delete them until the end of the semester or unless I tell you it is ok to.

Each of the 16 weeks has a Discussion Board that you are to respond to.  You are to post to the Discussion Board and to respond to two other students’ posts in a meaningful way. You are to correct any mistakes in your posts and read everyone else’s posts and responses (noncompliance will result in a loss of 1 of the ten total points for participation per occurrence). Make sure you check the Announcements and the Discussion Board on a regular basis, in case any changes are made to the Assignments.

Note: Late assignments/Discussion Board posts and responses will not be accepted and will result in a grade of 0 for that assignment (all for the week are due the same date). All assignments are due by 11:00 a.m. on the date given. You may turn in your lessons early but not late.

Final........................................................................... 10%

TOTAL POINTS........................................................ 100%

Late work is worth 0 POINTS.  No make-ups will be given. Sometimes situations arise and these will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Do not wait until after the fact, let the instructor know ASAP.

COURSE MANAGEMENT:

1.                  Administrative Withdrawal:  Class attendance of 100 percent is expected.  If absences exceed 20 percent (16 hours or 3 consecutive weeks), the student will be dropped from the class with a letter grade of F. IF you do not make contact by responding in the Discussion Board by January 17, you will be withdrawn from the course.  If absent from class for two consecutive weeks, the student will be dropped from the course with a grade of “W” or “WF” depending on the official withdrawal date.

2.         Student Initiated Withdrawal:  A student may initiate withdrawal before midterm with a grade of W. After midterm, the student will receive a grade of WF unless there is proof of an extenuating circumstance approved by the instructor and Vice‑President of Student Services.

3.         Students are required to complete all assignments.  A written excuse accepted by the instructor is required for a make-up test. Each student is expected to do his/her own work. Cheating will result in Dismissal and an F in the class.
