PREREQUISITES:
Be enrolled in an approved curriculum that requires Co–op;
have a minimum 2.0 GPA; have successfully met the eligibility requirements
(pre–selected by faculty) for the student’s program of study; and be
recommended by the Co–op Faculty Coordinator.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This
course provides work experience with a college approved employer in an area
related to the student’s program of study. Emphasis is placed on integrating
classroom learning with related work experience. Upon completion, students
should be able to evaluate career selection, demonstrate employability skills,
and satisfactorily perform work related competencies.

OBJECTIVES:
Measurable
Learning Objectives (MLO’s) will be developed by the student, with assistance
from the Co–op Faculty Coordinator and the Co–op Employer, relevant to the
student’s program of study. MLO’s are statements that clearly and precisely
describe specific accomplishments projected for the semester. Since Co–op is an
academic course, credit is granted for learning that occurs as a result of
working and not for actual work done on the job.
REQUIREMENTS:

Complete all
paperwork requirements.
l
Attend the
following meetings and seminars required by the Co–op program:
Monday,

February 7,
March
7–11 by appointment with faculty coordinator
Monday,
April 4,
May 3–6 by
appointment with faculty coordinator
l
Be covered by
adequate accident & health insurance.
l
Inform the
Co–op Faculty Coordinator of acceptance of Co–op position, any changes in
address, withdrawal from the course, or any problem which may arise.
l
Remain at the
work experience site for the entire period of the 160 hours unless special
arrangements of change of employment site are made with the Co–op Faculty
Coordinator and the employer.
l
If withdrawal
from the course occurs or if the student receives an F grade, the student must complete the work agreement form, the
MLO’s, and the wage and time report in the Co–op workbook for the hours spent
on the job.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students
are required to attend all meetings requested by the Co–op Faculty Coordinator.
Monthly time reports are due at each meeting. The student is expected to report
punctually and regularly for work. The student will notify the employer and the
Co–op Faculty Coordinator promptly if unable to work for any reason.
