Course
Description:
This course introduces the
keypad and the touch method using the electronic calculator. Topics include
mathematical functions in business applications. Upon completion, students
should be able to use the electronic calculator to solve a wide variety of
problems commonly encountered in business.

Course
Competencies:
Following completion of this course, the student will:
1.
Demonstrate proficiency in the touch
system for the electronic display and printing calculator.
2.
Demonstrate a high level of production
efficiency and skills through correct position and work habits.
3.
Demonstrate proficiency in accuracy,
arriving at a correct answer while being timed, following direction and
recording the answer.
4.
Process business documents and solve
business math problems with machine assistance.

Management:

Three (50) minute class periods per
week.

Technology.

Prerequisite‑none.
E.
Class attendance of 100 percent is
expected. Absences will demand a 10-point reduction per day in the student’s
attendance grade. If absences exceed 20 percent, (combined with classes held
before the student entered the class, if any) the student will be dropped from
the course with a grade of F.
16 x 3 = 48 (48 x 20%) = 10 class hours
= 10 absences.

Mid-Term, will receive a grade of F
unless there is proof of an extenuating circumstance.
