Course Description: This course covers the
fundamentals of chemistry which includes the following
topics: measurements, matter, energy, atomic theory, bonding, molecular
structure, nomenclature, balancing equations, stoichiometry,
solutions, acids & bases, gases, basic organic chemistry.
Course Competencies: Upon satisfactory completion of Chem 090, students should be able to understand and apply
basic chemical concepts necessary for success in college level science courses.

Students
whose absences exceed 20% of all scheduled
contact
hours will be dropped from the course by me for excessive absences. For our class, 20% is 6 days.
