Persons wishing to enroll at Bladen Community College (BCC) must complete the entire application process. Applicants will be notified by mail when their application has been received and if any additional requirements are needed. Applicants will also be notified of the time and place of registration. The procedure for admissions and the documentation required for students seeking a degree, diploma, or certificate are as follows: 1. Submit a completed paper admissions application or an electronic application through the BCC website. 2. Submit a completed paper copy of the BCC Federal Funding Questionnaire. 3. Have official high school or GED (General Educational Development) transcripts sent to BCC. Student copies are not acceptable. 4. Transcripts of all previous post-secondary education must be requested by the applicant and sent directly from the forwarding institution to the College. Student copies are not acceptable. 5. Each curriculum student is required to take the COMPASS Placement Test prior to registration. This test does not deny admission to any applicant. The purpose of testing is to provide necessary information in planning the student's program of study. Students who fail to meet the pre-determined cut-off scores will be required to take developmental classes students can review before testing with our COMPASS Sample Test. 6. Be interviewed by a member of the Student Services Counseling Staff. Before taking math and English classes in the following curriculum programs, the following COMPASS Test scores must be attained. Students not meeting these cut scores will be required to take either Reading, English or Math Developmental Classes in the area(s) in which a deficiency is shown. |
