Bahhouth, Joyce


Joyce Bahhouth has a Ph.D. in English as a Second Language (ESL). Her M.A. is in education and her B.A. is in English literature. She also has a teaching diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

Dr. Bahhouth comes from Lebanon where she had taught at Notre Dame University for 19 years and earlier at the American University of Beirut for seven years. When she came to NC, she taught at Fort Bragg with Milanguages and designed courses, tutored in the writing center and taught online at the University of Maryland University College.

She joined BCC in January 2010 as an English instructor and became the Chair of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in September 2010. She has taught at BCC ENG 090, ENG 111, ENG 114, ENG 131, and ENG 273.

She is currently living in Hope Mills with her husband Victor and her eight-year-old son Andrew.
