Bladen Community College - Finn Swiim Challenge Information


It's our Finnish friend's fiftieth birthday and to celebrate, Tiina Mundy is challenging her friends to support a virtual 100-mile swim from Key Largo, Florida to Key West, Florida, to raise money for the Bladen Community College Foundation! The Foundation provides scholarships to make college possible for deserving students, mini grants to improve the quality of classroom education, technology support to expand educational opportunities, and funding for special projects to enrich our community life.
Challenge 1 is for Tiina to swim 100 miles between October 1, 2011 and March 31, 2012! Only a feisty fifty-year-old Finnish Tiina would set the bar this high!
Challenge 2 is for Tiina's friends to pledge $.25, $.50, $1.00, or more per mile, toward her fund raising goal of $5,000! Only a selfless fifty-year-old Finnish Tiina would ask her friends to support the educational opportunities of students by celebrating with your gifts to the foundation's scholarship efforts! Please make all checks payable to the Bladen Community College Foundation. Upon request, a tax deductible receipt will be mailed to the address above.
