One of the many responsibilities of Bladen Community College's Continuing Education Department is managing the Workforce Investment Act program (WIA), which is housed at the Bladen County JobLink Career Center, a program that provides vital services to the county's unemployed. Located in the Employment Security Commission office of Elizabethtown, the Center provides a one-step system to serve job seekers and employers in the county.
The WIA program is broken into three divisions - adult, youth, and dislocated worker. Each serves a distinct population group based on established guidelines. Since the implementation of WIA, the JobLink Career Center has served nearly 1,000 Bladen County residents.
