BCC has a new Minority Mentor Coach/Counselor for the Minority Male Mentoring program. He is Julien Duncan, a retired Marine.

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Duncan moved with his family to New York at age 10, where he completed his early education. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he would remain for the next 20 years. During his career, he was stationed in a number of locations including Camp Lejeune and Okinawa, Japan. He worked in the armor and technical writing areas.

Following his retirement, he returned to school and graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He also has an associate degree in law enforcement.

After completing his degree, he worked as a campus policeman at North Carolina State University. He later worked for General Dynamics, a government contractor, and as a trainer at the Sharon Harris Nuclear Power Plant.

His wife, Sherrie, is a native of the East Arcadia community and he and his family decided to move back to the community last year. They currently reside in the community. He and his wife have a grown son.
