Minority Male Mentees Visited Raleigh

The purpose of this program is to enhance school performance and to be a vehicle that teaches personal goal setting and leadership skills. The program is designed to develop our mentees into leaders by inspiring them to identify personal dreams or goals and build action plans towards achieving them.

The Men of Standard participated in The 2013 National Black Student Leadership Conference in Raleigh during the month of January. The theme of this year's conference was "Embracing the Leadership Challenge". The Minority Male Mentees attended several of the workshops that were designed to address and develop important life issues, such as self-identity, communication skills, social behavior, cultural exposure, business and entrepreneurship to name a few.

1/10/2013   BCC’s Minority Male Mentoring program is planning to attend the National Black Student Leadership Conference in Raleigh.  Participants are encouraged to sign up for this overnight trip to the down Raleigh area.

10/25/2012   BCC's Minority Male Mentoring program, Men of Standard represented the James Sprunt Third Annual Scholarly Men of Success Academic Achievement Banquet in Wallace NC.

11/01/12   BCC's Minority Male Mentoring program is planning trips to Elizabeth City Community college and Charlotte before the end of the year.
