BCC to host Administrative Professionals Day
Source Date: April 25, 2012
Bladen Community College's Continuing Education Department will host an Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 25, at 12 noon in the Auditorium. The purpose of the event is to give area managers an opportunity to pay tribute to their administrative personnel.
The administrative staff of any organization is an indispensable part of the everyday operation of the entity, says Continuing Education Vice President Carolyn Walston. "This event gives those of us who so heavily depend on the support and loyalty of our administrative personnel an opportunity to say 'thank you' in a very special way," said Walston. The program is open to office professionals, administrative assistants, secretaries, and other office personnel as well as their supervisors.
May Craven, a well-known and popular motivational humorist from Wilmington, will give the keynote address at the luncheon. Craven, a native of the North Carolina Sandhills region, has traveled nationally and internationally to deliver her highly motivational, enlightening and fun programs to many types of audiences.
She has been quoted as saying "I come from an elite group of people: Southern Rednecks." She credits her humor and life perspective to her experiences growing up on a farm in the Sandhills and "living life on life's terms." "I truly am excited to return to Bladen County to honor and entertain the all-important and indispensable Administrative professionals," said Craven.
Reservations are required and may be obtained by calling Missi Hester at 910.879.5561, email firstname.lastname@example.org or going to Building 2, Room 205 on the BCC campus. The cost is $15 per person.
