Chad Porter, renowned speaker and author, to be at on campus event
Chad Porter, nationally renowned speaker and author, will be the key note speaker again this year in Bladen Community College’s virtual graduation video but will also be on campus at the celebration event to be held Friday, May 14th from 6pm until 8pm. Chad will be greeting graduates and available to autograph his book Severed Dreams. Video launches at 8:15pm on an on campus big screen and streamed live on the college’s website and social media.
Chad attended the University of North Carolina -Wilmington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and then went on to obtain a graduate degree in physical therapy from East Carolina University. His professional experience includes real estate, work at Coastal Rehabilitation Hospital and as the founder of Porter Financial Group. In 2017, he was honored by UNCW with its prestigious, Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award.
Chad lives in Wilmington with his wife and two sons. He comes from a family of educators–his grandmother and his parents. Many of you may know Chad’s father, Mac Porter, former principal of Dublin Elementary.
Besides for being special for his Bladen County ties, he is a nationally renowned, inspirational and motivational speaker. His book, Severed Dreams, became a best-seller after only a few days of its release.
Not only a published author, Chad has traveled around the globe for over 20 years sharing his encouraging message to graduates at university commencements, to businessmen and women at corporate conferences, and even to college and NFL athletes in the locker room–inspiring everyone where ever he goes. His story is about overcoming obstacles, persevering, dealing with life’s challenges, and still accomplishing your goals.
We consider Chad part of the Bladen Community College family. We are proud to have him with us to share a brief message to our graduates.
