Community colleges in the state were originally funded by public support along with tuition and fees. However, as diminishing government support, changeable student enrollment, and higher operating costs have altered the financial landscape, community colleges have begun adopting a new perspective. More and more, they are turning to their foundations as an important revenue source to offset the impact of budget cuts while sustaining educational excellence and accessibility.
Our Bladen Community College Foundation offers many opportunities and avenues in which to invest in the college. You may wish to give to the BCC Foundation’s general fund allowing the college the freedom to meet needs as they arise or you may choose to designate part, or all, of your gift to a specific program, scholarship, or naming opportunity.

Featured Scholarship Opportunities
Harmony Hall/Livingston Endowed Scholarship
To qualify as a recipient for the Harmony Hall/Livingston Endowed Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

The applicant must be enrolled at Bladen Community College.

The applicant must have two letters of recommendation. One from his/her high school teachers or principal and second from a reputable person in his/her community. If the applicant is family connected, then the second letter should be from a family member. If reapplying they must follow the same criteria as above, except they are to secure a letter of recommendation from Bladen Community College advisor.

Priority will be given to a descendent or family-connected relative of William Robert Livingston or Myrtle Suggs Livingston.

Along with the application, the student should submit an essay sharing what impact this scholarship will have, as well as, sharing their future goals and aspirations.

The student must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and maintain this average in order to reapply for this scholarship.
Relatives of the Livingstons will be the primary approving authority on the recipient of this scholarship. The amount of the scholarship will be based upon the interest income generated from the principal of the Harmony Hall/Livingston Fund.
Bladen Community College Student Centered – Future Focused Summer Scholarship
The Student Centered – Future Focused Summer Scholarship was established in May, 2021 by the Bladen Community College Foundation Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. This new summer scholarship was instituted to support students who enrolled in the summer semester.
Scholarship Criteria:

The student must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and be enrolled in a minimum of six to eight semester hours.

They are to be a capable learner with demonstrated economic need.

They must continue their enrollment for the duration of the scholarship.
Lee Anne & Carlton Bryan Information Technology Scholarship
This scholarship was created to award deserving Information Technology curriculum students on the basis of need and academics.
Scholarship Criteria:

Submit a scholarship application with two letters of recommendation, one of which is to be from a full-time Bladen Community College Information Technology curriculum instructor.

Maintain a 3.5 grade point average in the Information Technology curriculum program.

Be enrolled as a full time student, a minimum of twelve semester hours.

Be enrolled in the Information Technology curriculum.

Be a motivated, capable learner who has a demonstrated economic need, as well as having exhausted other resources for financial assiatance. Continue enrollment for the duration of the scholarship.

Submit an essay stating why the student has chosen to pursue a career in information technology and how they believe that this scholarship will help attain their educational goal.
