North Carolina Community College Grant

Amount Awarded: $100 – $2,200 per academic year

Eligibility Criteria: This award is awarded to undergraduate, North Carolina residents based on the results from your FAFSA. The amount of your NCCCG depends on your EFC and your enrollment status (full-time plus, full-time, three-quarter time, and half-time). The NCCCG is not available for the summer term or for less-than-half-time enrollment. Eligible students are allowed to receive NCCCG for up to six full-time equivalent semesters at the community college level.

15+ credit hours = Full-time “plus,” full amount awarded
12 to 14 credit hours = Full-time or $400 less than a full-time “plus” grant
9 to 11 credit hours = 3/4 time or 75% of a full-time grant
6 to 8 credit hours = 1/2 time or 50% of a full-time grant
Fewer than 6 credit hours = Not Eligible

North Carolina Education Lottery Scholarship (NCELS)

Amount Awarded: $130 – $3,130 per academic year

Eligibility Criteria: This award is awarded to undergraduate, North Carolina residents based on the results from your FAFSA. The amount of your NCELS depends on your EFC and your enrollment status (full-time, three-quarter time, and half-time). The NCELS is not available for the summer term or for less-than-half-time enrollment. Eligible students are allowed to receive NCELS for up to six full-time equivalent semesters at the community college level.

12+ credit hours = full amount awarded
6 to 11 credit hours = 1/2 time or 50% of a full-time grant
Fewer than 6 credit hours = Not Eligible
