MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III

Bladen Community College is now accepting applications for a full time Maintenance Technician III. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), associate degree preferred. Skilled technician with at least five years’ journeyman level experience in general building maintenance in multi-building facilities. Must have electric, plumbing, painting and general maintenance problem solving skills.   Specialized training required in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, HVAC or electrical maintenance. HVAC Controls (ie: Johnson Controls, Siemens Controls) training preferred.

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities the Maintenance Technician III position performs a wide variety of miscellaneous mechanical and building trade tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Essential job duties include: performs inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, operates and assists in maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems, lead projects for renovation or repairs, assist Director of Facility Services and/or lead in the Director’s absence, ability to perform general electrical and plumbing duties; ability to provide upkeep of facilities and grounds; landscaping; general maintaining of equipment; and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT

Bladen Community College is accepting applications for a full-time (12 month) Library Assistant. The library assistant provides a wide range of technical library, multimedia, duties related to provision of service in a computer-based information library and open access computer laboratory setting; supports instruction as assigned; and values and promotes the mission and vision of the college. Provides quality customer service by assuring department operation standards are met.  Responsible for providing basic reference and circulation services, assist with copy and fax services, performing clerical and organizing documenting materials of information.

The qualifications for this job include an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in library and information technology and 1-year library experience or an associate degree in a related field and 2-years’ library experience required. Community college library experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the Library of Congress Classification System, preferred. Demonstrated competencies using technology, including but not limited to library computers equipment (laptops, cameras and projectors, etc.). Evening and weekend work is required.

DIRECTOR FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND CREDENTIALING

Bladen Community College is now accepting applications for a full-time (12 month) Director for Workforce Development and Credentialing. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred or with three to five years related experience. Licensures, industry-recognized credentials, and significant work experience in industry and vocational occupations may be considered. Must be willing to become a NCCER Master Trainer within one year of being hired.

The Director for Workforce Development and Credentialing is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining positive and effective relationships with all relevant workforce partners at the local, regional and state levels to include private and public entities. The director will consult with prospective and existing businesses to provide clearly defined proposals to address specific business and industry sector workforce needs using existing NCCER education and training programs and/or customized solutions; design and ensure delivery of workforce development solutions; make site visits and presentations to businesses, events , conferences, and job fairs; and, utilize marketing/labor market data to seek talent solutions for businesses and build revenue generating workforce opportunities in Bladen county.

The Director for Workforce Development and Credentialing will have considerable working knowledge of economic development, workforce development and/or occupational and technical education. Working knowledge of available state and regional economic and workforce development resources, processes, and point of contact in order to best serve customers. Working knowledge of regional education, training, and credentialing programs, and the region’s service territory, existing businesses, and industry clusters.   Demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive and effective working relationships with local, state, and regional partners relative to workforce development, economic development, and area industries. Demonstrated ability to write professional proposals, reports, analyses, and grants. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion.   Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; with strong interpersonal skills necessary to give impactful presentations to large and small groups. Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computers with current software programs.

Adjunct English Instructor

Bladen Community College is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor of English. Applicants must hold either a master’s degree in English or a master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in English from an accredited institution. Successful teaching experience in the field of English is required. Previous community college experience is preferred.

Applicants must hold either a master’s degree in communication studies or a master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in communication studies from an accredited institution. Successful teaching experience in the field of communication arts is required. Previous community college experience is preferred.

Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor

Bladen Community College is accepting applications for adjunct clinical nursing instructors. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Must currently possess an unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina. Healthcare Provider level CPR certification required. Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse required. Must have appropriate knowledge and clinical skills for teaching assignment and meet health requirements of the department.

Adjunct American Sign Language  Instructor

Adjunct Electrical Technology Instructor

Bladen Community College is now accepting applications for a part time Electrical Technology Instructor. Applicants must have an associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field from an accredited institution. Applicants must have three years of demonstrated electrical and industrial systems experience.   It is required that individuals applying for this position have digital electronics, and PLC experience.

Duties include teaching basic control methods, electrical and electronic trouble shooting, Alan Bradley PLCs, electrical measurements, digital electronics, instrumentation, and power transmission systems concepts and skills, preparing course materials, organizing class lectures and utilizing smart room capabilities, preparing shop activities, keeping records, maintaining clean and orderly facilities, assisting with school activities, recruiting, and performing related duties.

CONTINUING EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS:

The Continuing Education Department is continually seeking qualified instructors for part-time employment. We offer a wide variety of courses that are tied to specific skill sets such as nursing assistant, office skills, emergency services, and human resource development, just to name a few. As a minimum, an associates degree or higher is required to instruct most courses, however strong work experience, skills, or specific certifications may be sufficient for certain classes. Those interested in part-time instruction should complete an application for employment, including an unofficial copy of transcripts and /or certifications, and return it to our personnel department. Positions are filled on an as-needed basis from the pool of qualified applicants.


BASIC SKILLS INSTRUCTORS:

The Basic Skills Department in Continuing Education is continually seeking qualified instructors for part-time employment. We seek instructors for GED, Adult Basic Education, Adult High School, and Compensatory Education. We also need substitute instructors in each of these areas. As a minimum, a bachelors degree is required for all lead instructor positions and an associates degree or higher is required for substitutes. Work experience in education, instruction, or with adult learners is preferred.
