This scholarship was established in memory of Ann Hammond Smith for the purpose of supporting students enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program at Bladen Community College.  The recipient of the scholarship will be selected each year by the college’s scholarship committee.  To qualify as a recipient for the Ann Hammond Smith Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

Scholarship Criteria:

• Must have completed nursing pre-requisites at Bladen Community College.

• Must be a full-time student enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program at Bladen Community College.

Ann was a graduate of Bladen Community College and was a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She had a strong love and compassion for people, so it is appropriate that this scholarship be awarded to students at Bladen Community College who are studying to become a practical nurse.
